Tactile Technologies champions skills development

Tactile Technologies has partnered with Triple E Training, the biggest Adult Education and Training (AET) and community project provider in South Africa, to help a group of youngsters boost their business skills. In addition to this community project, which is part of Tactile’s efforts to develop South Africa, Triple E is also providing training for existing Tactile employees.

For Mauro Mercuri, group director for the Tactile Technologies Group, the initiative is one of several in which the company aims to give back to the community. Acknowledging that education is incredibly important, we are keen to boost talent with the right guidance and support and in doing so want to contribute to the upliftment of South Africa. “We are very lucky that we can bring these youngsters into our Tactile Technologies team and further support them as individuals and as working professionals,” he adds.

According to Marco Maree, key account manager at Triple E Training, the Business Practice qualification is aimed at showing candidates how to handle everything from business management, effective communication in the workplace and basic computing skills to practical mathematics and customer service. In addition to this, life orientation and entrepreneurship training is also provided to help participants prepare for the world of business.

Not only has Tactile Technologies partnered with Triple E Training as part of a community improvement programme that sponsors unemployed community members, they’re also adding value to the lives of their employees through work based AET programmes, notes Maree.

Teachers really do have the opportunity to inspire others to greatness, says Elsie De Villiers, a sales ambassador at Triple E Training. Who doesn’t remember their favourite teacher? “At Triple E we take that passion for training and make it happen for our clients’ employees and for the broader community. We aim to bring out the best in our students, ensuring that they have hope for a better, more empowered future.”

I am extremely excited to see how our students will progress throughout the year, concludes Mercuri. We monitor them closely so that we can recognise talent and guide them where needed. I am happy to see positive reports thus far and look forward to one or more youngsters joining our team in the not too distant future.
