Gary Player, a South African golfer widely considered as one of the greatest golfers of all time, once said:“Golf is a puzzle without an answer. I’ve played the game for 50 years and I still haven’t the slightest idea of how to play”.
A few weeks ago Tactile Technologies and POS printer supplier, Citizen, treated their clients to a day of “puzzle making” during two golf days hosted at courses in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Part golf day, part expo, the event saw Tactile and Citizen showcasing their products to some of their long-term clients before treating the group to a round of golf, with a range of exciting prizes up for grabs – from TVs and tablets to golf bags and Ferrari driving experiences. There were also accolades for the longest drive and the shot closest to the pin.
It didn’t matter if you were the most professional golfer or just swinging for fun, the day tee’d off perfectly and ended up being a flying success, said Mauro Mercuri, Group Director for the Tactile Technologies Group. “We just wanted to thank our clients from a wide range of sectors for their ongoing support. The event also gave us the opportunity to showcase the latest innovations from some of the best suppliers in the industry.”
Big winners on the day included players from FNB, Nando’s, Global Access Telecommunications and TCM. “The golf day was a huge success,” Freddy Lima, TCM’s corporate account manager. “The event was well organised and the organisers were very friendly and professional. And, of cause, winning a prize was one of the best parts of the day.” “A wonderful event hosted by a fantastic business partner, Michael Horn Datacentrix Cape Town.”
Tactile Technologies’ golf days were executed perfectly, says Bradley Collins, regional sales manager for the UK, Ireland and South Africa. These events epitomise the true meaning of ‘Value Added Distributor’ and from a manufacturers perspective are a real pleasure.
