Tactile Technologies, the official and sole distributor of Elo TouchSystems in sub-Saharan Africa, today announced that it had donated a Fiat Strada bakkie to Pug Rescue SA.
“This initiative forms part of our corporate social investment programme,” commented Mauro Mercuri, Managing Director of Tactile Technologies. “I am actively involved in the Cape Town Pug Rescue operation, have two of my own, and foster pugs when needed, and do adoption processes. I have never seen such commitment to animal well-being as the people at Pug Rescue show each and every day.”
“This donation is vital for the transportation of our pugs, and couldn’t have come at a more opportune moment,” added Cheryl Gaw of Pug Rescue. “We are all volunteers at Pug Rescue, and thus all donations, whether great or small, are used to pay for such items as veterinary bills and the flight costs for the transportation of pugs from other provinces to Pug Rescue HQ in Benoni; thus, we are very appreciative of this latest donation from Tactile Technologies.”
“Apart from the obvious needs of an organisation such as Pug Rescue, it is also an encouraging sign that they are embarking on an educational programme, where children will be brought to Pug Rescue HQ and educated on animal well-being and on how to treat animals with respect,” concluded Mercuri.
